the 'make it in may' skirt sew along

i have joined in on Cams' from CurlyPops  'make it in may skirt sew along challenge'

objective - make a skirt you love and sew it in may, easy..... a whole month to make a skirt...
well that is achievable.....

i decided to go with the Jody Pearl Sew Outside the Lines pattern
'Splice Skirt' of which i have made several now....

there are people in your life you meet..... they bring joy to your heart... make you laugh... and
constantly inspired you.... thank you for always inspiring me jody....

i love the fact that one skirt can be so versatile as i have made the original here
i have also used the basic pattern as a beautiful a-line with birdie
and have let my creative left side of the brain out of its box....

now as i started to cut my skirt (in the most gorgeous fabric from kokka) marking the sewing lines
i thought why not....
only do half and leave one side plain to showcase the print....
then that beautiful ribbon from kaffe fassett as an added touch...
cut the band off an old jumper, attach (so can hide the expanding belly, too much chocolate)...

patterns for the 'splice skirt' are here - Sew Outside the Lines
and here - Hot Possum

i have enjoyed this challenge....
thanks to Cam for hosting...
might make a couple more for winter too...

so what or who inspires you....
would love to hear from you all....
please feel free to post a comment

xx Denise

I'm absolutely loving seeing all of the different skirts being made, and we're only a week into the month.
